Nanocoatings and Films

Nanocoatings and films, comprising ultra-thin layers of nanomaterials, are transforming various industries with their enhanced properties and functionalities. These coatings and films offer superior attributes such as increased durability, corrosion resistance, hydrophobicity, and antimicrobial properties. They are extensively used in electronics to protect components and improve device performance, in the automotive industry for scratch-resistant and self-cleaning surfaces, and in healthcare for antimicrobial coatings on medical devices and implants. Nanocoatings also play a crucial role in energy by enhancing the efficiency and longevity of solar panels and batteries. Challenges include ensuring uniform application, scalability of production, and long-term stability under different environmental conditions. Research is advancing towards developing multifunctional nanocoatings with self-healing and smart response capabilities, as well as environmentally friendly synthesis methods.
