Biography

Fernanda Retana is a professor at the School of Chemistry at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL) in Monterrey, Mexico. She obtained her Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry from UANL in 2022. Her research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of nanostructured materials for applications in corrosion science, solar energy conversion, and catalysis. She has extensive experience in materials synthesis and electrochemical and optical characterization techniques. Her current research interests include the development of functional nanomaterials, protective coatings, and advanced electronic devices, particularly for applications in the metal processing and energy industries. She has participated in several research projects related to surface engineering and functional materials.
